My trip to Athens was the first time I flew alone as an unaccompanied minor. I lost both my earrings on the second flight from Newark to Athens. Tutu (my grandmother) met me at the airport in Athens. We took a bus from the airport. To get the tickets, Tutu had to leave me on the bus to watch the luggage and save the seats while she went with the bus man to buy the tickets. I was very tired.
When we got on the boat, my first words were "is something wrong with the air-conditioning?" The air-conditioning was not on. Papa (my grandfather) said a man was going to deliver new batteries in a few minutes. He did. After that, I went to sleep. While I was asleep they moved the boat to another place.
The next morning we all went to the supermarket and bought lots of vegetables. We looked for pancake syrup but all we could find was lots and lots of honey. Papa hates honey so we didn't buy any. Then it was time to leave the marina. We motored the boat to a place that had a big long beach. I took a long nap because I was still tired from the airplane. Then the waves started getting rough and the boat was moving up and down, so Papa said that we would move. The wind was getting strong.
Tutu drove the boat. Papa put up the sails and the boat tipped way over. I started screaming "we are going to die!!!" But Tutu told me that the boat would not fall over because there is something beneath the boat that is very heavy and makes the boat not fall over. When we turned the boat in a different direction then the boat did not tip over so much. I liked being all tipped over the most.
We stayed at the next place for 2 nights. Zachary (my cousin) drove the dinghy around bird island. I did not drive the dinghy. Then we moved the boat back to the place we were first with the big long beach. We rode in the dinghy to the shore and I saw 2 orange starfish. We went out for lunch and had pork gyros and french fries. Then we went to a bakery and got oatmeal cookies and cherry cookies. When we got back to the dinghy the wind was getting strong again so Papa said we had to leave.
We sailed fast about 4 hours to an island.
